Lakers coach Mike Brown suspended for one game

This could get ugly...

Per Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski, Los Angeles Lakers first-year head coach Mike Brown has been suspended by the NBA for Monday’s game at Philadelphia after he was ejected for making contact with a ref over the weekend. Brown was visibly upset about missed calls in the Lakers’ loss Saturday night at Utah and made contact with official Zach Zarba before receiving two technical fouls, leading to his ejection.

Here’s video:

Brown will also be fined $25,000 for his suspension. Assistant coach John Kuester will coach the Lakers (14-10) Monday night against the 76ers, one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference. Kuester was the head coach of the Pistons the last two season before being fired and joining Mike Brown’s staff in Los Angeles over the summer. The Pistons were 57-107 under Kuester.

The Lakers, currently in the 7th seed in the West, are on a six game road trip and have struggled on the road this season (3-8), while the Sixers are the third best team in the Eastern Conference with a 17-7 record, 11-2 at home.

This might not end well for the Lakers…
